About Provence House
At Provence House, we provide residential and dementia care for older adults, younger adults, and those who need a short break through respite care, right here in York, East Riding of Yorkshire. We are a care home that takes its responsibility to residents and their families seriously, and we work hard every day to make sure the people living with us feel safe, respected, and genuinely at home. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that trust lightly. Whether someone comes to us for long term residential support, specialist dementia care, or a planned respite stay, we aim to treat every person as an individual with their own history, preferences, and needs. Getting to know our residents properly, not just their care needs but who they are as people, is something we consider central to how we work. Our team is made up of people who have chosen care as a career because they genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of others. We invest in their training and development so that the standard of care we provide continues to improve. We are currently working through a period of improvement following our most recent CQC inspection, and we are committed to being open and honest about that process. We are taking the findings seriously and are making real, measurable changes to how we operate. We welcome families to come and visit us, ask questions, and spend time getting a feel for the home before making any decisions. We believe transparency and open communication with families and residents are what good care looks like in practice.
