About Estuary View
Estuary View is a residential care home in Teignmouth, Devon. We look after older people who need help through the day, including those living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and some younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. We are a seaside town home and most of our residents are from Teignmouth or the villages along the estuary, which gives conversation in the lounge plenty of common ground. Staff tend to be local and tend to stay, and that matters more to the people living here than anything else we could put on a list. The care itself is steady rather than striking. Washing and dressing in a way that leaves somebody feeling like themselves. Medicines on time. Meals that are hot and actually wanted. Help to move about the building and get outside safely. For residents with dementia we keep routines consistent and surroundings familiar, and nothing is moved without a reason. Where a physical disability is involved the work is often about equipment, patience, and allowing a person the time to do a thing themselves. We want relatives in the building often rather than confined to visiting hours. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no overall rating to show you. We would rather say that plainly. Call in and see us instead, with or without warning.
