About Udal Garth
Here at Udal Garth, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Torpoint, Cornwall. We are proud to support people with learning disabilities and autism, as well as younger adults who need either ongoing residential care or a shorter respite stay. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a person or their family will ever make, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our team works hard to make sure that everyone who comes through our doors feels genuinely at home, respected as an individual, and supported to live as independently as possible. We take the time to get to know each person properly, understanding their routines, preferences and goals rather than offering a one size fits all approach. Respite care is something we put real thought into. Whether someone is here for a short break or to give a family carer some breathing space, we want the experience to feel settled and positive rather than unsettling. Familiar routines are maintained wherever we can, and people are welcomed as part of the Udal Garth community for however long they are with us. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as good across the board, which reflects the consistent effort our whole team puts in day to day. We are always looking at how we can improve and develop, and we welcome open conversations with residents, families and external professionals about how we are doing. Torpoint is a close knit community and we are very much part of it. We encourage residents to engage with local life where they wish to, and we maintain strong links with the wider area to make sure the people we support have access to everything that matters to them. We would always welcome the chance to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
