About Foxhole House
Foxhole House is a residential care home in St Austell supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults. We are a small home and that is central to how we work, because it means the team know each person properly rather than relying on handover notes. Much of what we do comes down to communication. We take time to understand how someone tells us they are content, bored, unwell or unsettled, and we make sure every member of the team reads those signs the same way. Once that is in place, life can be kept predictable enough for a person to relax, and we can spot early when something is wrong. The day here belongs to the people who live in the house. People choose how to spend their time, keep their own things around them and take on as much of the ordinary running of a home as they want to. Where someone is working towards more independence, we look for the practical steps rather than talking about it in the abstract. Respite stays are available as well, for people needing short term support and for families who need a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The better measure is whether people here seem at ease, so please come and see.
