About Rosewood

We are a residential home in Cambridge supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including people with physical disabilities. What we are trying to run is a home rather than a service with people living in it. That shows in ordinary things. Everyone has their own room arranged how they like it, the week is worked out between the people who live here and the staff supporting them, and decisions about what is cooked, when the shopping is done and where anyone wants to go are made together rather than handed down. Support is built around what each person wants to be able to do. For some that is a job, a college course or a regular volunteering day. For others it is getting out into the city, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff, or doing more for themselves in the kitchen. Where somebody needs help with personal care, mobility or health appointments, we give it without taking over more of the task than is necessary. Consistency counts for a great deal, particularly for autistic people, so we keep staffing as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or a member of your family, please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
