About Alex Wood House
Here at Alex Wood House, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. We are proud to have received a "good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our team puts in every single day to make sure the people who live here feel safe, respected and at home. We support a wide range of needs, including older person care, dementia care, mental health support, care for those living with a physical disability, and support for people with visual or hearing impairment. We also welcome younger adults and offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give a family carer some time to rest. Whatever brings someone to us, we aim to make sure they feel genuinely welcomed rather than simply accommodated. Dementia care is something we take seriously here. We understand how disorientating and frightening it can be, both for the person living with dementia and for the families around them. We try to create an environment that feels calm and familiar, where routines are respected and individuality is not lost. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. From the moment someone first contacts us, we try to be open and honest about what we offer and how we work, so that families can make the right choice with confidence. Cambridge is a wonderful place to be based, and we enjoy the community around us. If you would like to find out more about life at Alex Wood House, we would encourage you to get in touch or come and see us in person. We are always happy to talk.
