About The Wingfield
The Wingfield is a nursing home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia and for younger adults with nursing needs, and we offer respite stays, including for people recovering after a hospital admission. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours is what allows us to manage complex health needs here. Wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are looked after on site, and changes in someone's health are noticed and acted on quickly rather than waiting for an appointment. We work with GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so that decisions are made in good time. Nursing is not the whole of life, though, and we try not to let it dominate the feel of the place. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Rooms are furnished with people's own belongings and visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings familiar and the staffing consistent, and we take trouble to understand what lies behind distress rather than simply managing it. We keep families properly informed, particularly when someone becomes unwell or is nearing the end of life. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round.
