About Kimberly West & East Care Centres

We provide nursing care in Salisbury for people whose needs require qualified nursing alongside support with daily living. We care for older people, including those living with dementia, people with mental health conditions and people with loss of sight or hearing. Having registered nurses on duty means medication, pain, wounds, continence and the difficulties people have with eating and drinking can be managed properly and without waiting, and that a change in somebody's health is picked up early. That clinical work is necessary, but it is not the whole of a life. People here still choose when to get up, what to wear, what they would like to eat and who they want beside them, and we try to make sure the nursing does not crowd those things out. Caring for someone living with dementia asks for patience above everything else. We spend time learning about a person's history and habits and the things that comfort or unsettle them, because that is what helps when somebody is frightened or disorientated. We work closely with general practitioners, community teams and hospital staff, keep families properly informed, and where someone is nearing the end of life we concentrate on comfort, dignity and the company of those they love. Respite stays are available as well. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and see us and ask whatever you need to.
