About Harnham Croft Care Home

Harnham Croft in Salisbury provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working with carers who know the people they look after. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we involve GPs and community specialists early rather than waiting for a problem to become urgent. Nursing is the foundation but not the whole job. People live here, often for a long time, and a day made up only of treatment is not much of a life. So we cook food that people actually want to eat, keep rooms personal, make time for company and conversation, and get out into the fresh air when the weather allows. For those living with dementia, routines are kept steady and surroundings familiar, and we watch carefully for pain and discomfort that somebody may not be able to describe. Families are welcome and kept properly informed. Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission.
