About Garside House Nursing Home
Garside House is a nursing home in Westminster. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we also offer respite stays. Nursing here covers changing health, skin and wound care, complicated medication and care for people approaching the end of their lives. Having nurses on site at all hours means problems are picked up early and can usually be managed here with the GP, which spares people admissions to hospital they would rather avoid. Alongside that, this is somewhere people live. We ask what an ordinary day looked like before someone came to us and try to protect the parts that mattered, whether that is a particular chair, a newspaper, the radio on first thing or being left in peace until they are ready. Where dementia makes conversation difficult, knowing the person carries us through, and families are the best source of that knowledge. London is a city where families are often spread out, so we make a point of keeping relatives properly informed, including those who cannot visit as often as they would like. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering nursing care in central London, please contact us and arrange to come and see the home.
