About Kingsland House
Kingsland House is a nursing home in Shoreham By Sea. We care for older people who need nursing support, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and some younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Having registered nurses on site around the clock means clinical needs are met here rather than through repeated trips to hospital. Wound care, catheters, diabetes, pain relief and the gradual changes that come with frailty are managed by people who know the person, in surroundings they know. Families can ring and speak to somebody who can actually tell them how their relative has been that day. Most of good nursing care is small things done reliably and on time. Pressure care that does not slip. Mouth care that is not skipped. Someone sitting with a person who is frightened in the night. Those are the things we would rather be measured on. The other half of the job is a life worth getting up for. Residents choose their routines and their rooms are their own. With dementia we keep the surroundings calm and familiar and treat distress as something with a cause. Where someone has a physical disability we think carefully about equipment and about not helping more than is wanted. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Kingsland House.
