About Tower Bridge Care Centre
Tower Bridge Care Centre is a nursing home in Southwark, providing nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, as well as some younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays for people recovering after illness or giving a family carer a break. Having qualified nurses on site means we can support people with complex and changing health needs without them having to move again, which matters enormously to families who have already been through several moves. Day to day, though, our focus is less on clinical tasks than on how somebody actually lives. Being helped at a pace that suits you. Eating food you recognise and enjoy. Having your room feel like yours. Being asked rather than told. We are in the middle of London and we make use of it, with visitors coming and going, people getting out when they are able and local life carrying on around us rather than stopping at the front door. We want to be plain about our position. The Care Quality Commission most recently judged that we require improvement overall. We accepted those findings, we have an action plan we are working through, and we would rather discuss it openly than hope nobody asks. If you are considering us for a relative, please come and see the home, speak to our nurses and ask us directly what has changed and what we are still putting right. We will give you an honest answer.
