About Oaklands Manor Nursing Home
Oaklands Manor Nursing Home is in Saltburn by the Sea, in Redcar and Cleveland. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, for people living with dementia, for those managing mental ill health and for people with sight or hearing loss. We also take respite bookings. Having qualified nurses on duty at all hours means we can care for people with substantial health needs on site and usually manage a period of illness here rather than through repeated hospital admissions. Our care staff work alongside the nursing team and know the people living here well enough to notice when somebody is not their usual self. We also work to keep this somewhere people live rather than somewhere they are treated. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, the day has a shape without being regimented, and there is company for those who want it and peace for those who do not. The coast matters to a good many of the people here, and we get out into it when we can. We would rather be open about our regulator. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission found that we require improvement overall. There is an action plan, we are working through it with the whole team, and we will talk any family through what was raised, what has changed and what is still in hand. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour.
