About Hazelgrove Court Care Home
Hazelgrove Court Care Home is a nursing home in Saltburn by the Sea, caring for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside daily support, including people living with dementia. Respite and short stays are also available. Nursing care on site means we can support people through changing health needs without another move becoming necessary. We work closely with GPs, district nurses, therapists and hospital teams, and we would rather raise something early than wait and see how it develops. The clinical side only works, though, when staff know a person well enough to spot that something is different, so continuity is something we try hard to protect. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried and give people time to finish their thoughts. We ask families to tell us about the person's life so that reassurance can rest on something real rather than on general kindness. We would rather be direct about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have accepted what was found and we are working through it, and we are not going to present that as a misunderstanding. If you are considering the home, please ask us exactly what the concerns were, what has changed and what is still in hand. You are welcome to visit and see the home on an ordinary day.
