About Floryn House Care Home
Floryn House Care Home is a nursing home in Kidlington in Oxfordshire. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Having qualified nurses on duty at all hours is what allows us to care for people with significant health needs without constant journeys to hospital. Medication, wound care, continence and long term conditions are managed here, in close contact with local GPs, community teams and therapists, and where somebody is approaching the end of life we concentrate on comfort, dignity and keeping families properly informed. We want the home itself to feel like somewhere people live. Rooms are personal, visitors are welcome without appointment, and the day is built around the people in it rather than around the rota. When somebody moves in we ask about their life, their work, their habits and the people who matter to them, because that is what turns care into something individual. For people living with dementia we keep things familiar and unhurried and we keep staff teams as consistent as we can. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We prefer to say that openly rather than let it go unmentioned. Please come and visit, meet the nursing team and ask us whatever you would like to know.
