About Ashley Care Centre
Ashley Care Centre is a nursing home in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, where registered nurses are on duty around the clock alongside our care team. We look after older people whose health needs require nursing, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing, and people living with mental health conditions. The nursing work covers management of long term conditions, wound and skin care, continence support, help where eating and swallowing have become difficult, and careful oversight of medication. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses, therapists and dietitians, and we ask for specialist advice early rather than waiting to see how matters develop. What we try hard to avoid is letting the clinical side take over the day. People here have long lives behind them and should not spend the rest of their time being processed. The best parts of a week are usually the least medical ones: a visit from family, a conversation that runs on, a turn round the garden when the weather allows. For those living with dementia and for people with sensory loss, we keep the routine steady and adapt how we communicate, because familiarity is the most reliable comfort there is. Respite stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we would be pleased to show you round.
