About Balmore Country House
Balmore Country House is a nursing home in Nottingham. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with everyday living, including residents living with dementia. Having nurses on duty at every hour means we can manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, working closely with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams. It also means somebody whose health declines can usually stay here, among familiar faces and their own belongings, rather than being moved at the hardest possible moment. Dementia nursing asks for patience more than anything. We keep surroundings calm and the rhythm of the day predictable, we keep the same staff around the same residents as far as rotas allow and we give people the time they need to find their words. We ask families to tell us about working lives, music and habits, because that knowledge earns its keep on a difficult afternoon. Respite stays are available, including nursing support after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Nottinghamshire are welcome to visit.
