About Scorton Care Village
Scorton Care Village near Richmond, North Yorkshire, provides nursing care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. The advantage of a village is that support can change without somebody having to move again. Needs rarely stay still, and being able to increase nursing care in a familiar place, among familiar faces, spares people the upheaval of another move at exactly the point when upheaval is least welcome. Our nursing team manages medication, wound care, mobility, continence, nutrition and complex long term conditions, working closely with GPs and community health colleagues. Around that runs the ordinary business of living somewhere. Meals worth eating, fresh air, visitors welcomed at hours that suit them, and staff who notice when a resident has gone quiet this week. Respite stays are available, including for people recovering after a hospital admission before they return home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome to visit and see the place on an ordinary day rather than a prepared one.
