About Coble House
Coble House is a nursing home in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, and we do a great deal of work with residents living with dementia. Registered nurses are on site around the clock, which means medication, wound and pressure care and changing health needs are handled here, and someone does not have to move on each time their health shifts. Families often tell us that continuity is the thing they were most anxious about. The risk in any nursing home is that the clinical work crowds out ordinary life, and we keep an eye on that. Getting up at your own hour, eating food you actually want, having your own things around you and someone who sits down rather than stands over you are not extras to be fitted in afterwards. For residents living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the staffing familiar, and we ask families for the life history that makes conversation possible. Respite stays are available for carers needing a break and for people not yet ready to manage at home after hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
