About Gresham Care Home

Gresham Care Home is a nursing home in Great Yarmouth providing nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, and for younger adults with nursing needs. Respite stays are available. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Registered nurses are here at all hours, which means complex health needs can be looked after in familiar surroundings rather than through repeated hospital admissions. Wound care, diabetes, catheters, pain relief and care at the end of life are managed by a team who know the resident, working alongside GPs, district nurses and specialist palliative colleagues. Clinical care is only half the job. What makes a day worth having is company, a familiar routine and something to look forward to, so our team is expected to spend real time with residents rather than moving briskly through tasks. Residents decide how their days go and rooms belong to the people living in them. For residents living with dementia, consistency does more good than anything else we could buy. We keep routines steady and faces familiar, and we ask families to share the person's history so that our team can understand what lies behind a question and respond to the feeling rather than correcting the detail. Families are welcome and we would rather hear a concern early than late. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and look round.
