About St Anne's Community Services - Foxview
We are Foxview in Dewsbury, a care home with nursing run by St Anne's. We support adults who have a learning disability and autistic adults whose health needs require qualified nursing alongside everyday support, and we also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Having nurses in the team means that someone whose health is complex or changing can be properly looked after without having to move on again. We work closely with doctors, district nurses and therapists whenever a person's condition alters, and clinical care is given with the same regard for privacy and dignity as every other part of the day. Nursing is only part of life here and we try hard not to let it become the whole of someone's day. Communication and routine come first. We take time to learn how each person tells us what they want, how they show that something is wrong and which parts of the day need to stay the same, and we write plans in a form the person can actually use. We help with personal care, meals and appointments, and we support people to get out locally, to keep up the activities they enjoy and to stay close to family and friends. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather be judged on whether the people living here feel at home.
