About Sandmere Care Home
Sandmere Care Home is a nursing home in Margate, Kent. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia, for people with physical disabilities and with a visual or hearing impairment, and for younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours. That is what allows wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care to be managed on site, and it means changes in a resident's health are noticed and acted on quickly rather than left. We work alongside GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so decisions get made calmly and in good time, and people do not have to move on as their needs increase. We work hard to keep the place feeling like a home rather than a ward. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want, and rooms are furnished with their own belongings. Being by the sea helps, with fresh air and family visiting for the day. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings familiar and staffing consistent. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are registered with them and inspected against their standards. Please arrange to come and look round.
