About Cavell Park Care Home
Cavell Park is a nursing home in Maidstone. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing care for a shorter period. Having nurses here at all hours means we can manage changing health, skin and wound care, complicated medication and support at the end of life without people having to move somewhere else at the point they would least want to. It also means we tend to notice when someone is becoming unwell before it turns into an emergency. Around the nursing, this is a place where people live. We ask what a person's ordinary day looked like before they came to us and try to protect the parts that mattered, whether that is a particular chair, the radio on in the morning, or being left alone until they are ready. Where dementia makes words difficult, we rely on knowing the person well, and families are the best source of that. Relatives are welcome and we encourage them to visit often and to ask us questions. If something is not right we would much rather hear about it straight away. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering nursing care in Maidstone or elsewhere in Kent, please arrange to come and see us.
