About Harmonia Village
Harmonia Village is a nursing home in Dover, Kent. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairment. We take respite admissions alongside permanent places. Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means we can look after people whose health needs are complex or changing, manage a great deal here rather than in hospital, and provide care towards the end of life calmly and without rush. Alongside the clinical work we try hard to hold on to the ordinary things, because they are what people actually live on. Being up, dressed and comfortable. Food worth eating. Company. A day with some shape to it. For residents living with dementia we keep the environment calm, routines familiar and staffing as steady as we can, and we take time to learn about each person's life so that we can make better sense of what they are telling us. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather say that plainly than have you discover it elsewhere. We know which areas were identified, we are working through them with the team, and if you visit we will tell you honestly where we have got to and what is still outstanding. Families are welcome here, and we would far rather hear a concern at the time than long afterwards.
