About Ellesmere House

Ellesmere House is a nursing home in Kensington and Chelsea, and we look after people who need qualified nursing support alongside the ordinary comforts of home. Our nursing team is on site at every hour of the day and night, which means that clinical needs are met quickly and calmly, without anyone having to leave the place they now call home. We support older people, adults living with dementia, and people with a learning disability or autism, as well as those living with mental health conditions or a physical disability. Because our residents arrive with very different histories and abilities, we start by asking what a good day actually looks like for each person, and we build the care and the daily routine around that answer rather than around our own convenience. Life here is not run to a timetable for its own sake. Some residents enjoy company in our shared lounges, others prefer a quiet morning with the paper and a visit from family, and both are entirely welcome. Being in central London means relatives can visit easily, and we encourage them to come often and to stay involved in decisions. We also offer respite stays, whether that is to give a family carer a genuine break or to give someone time to regain confidence after a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and we work hard to keep it that way.
