About Wisteria Lodge
We are Wisteria Lodge, a nursing home in Waterlooville, Hampshire. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we take respite admissions for shorter stays. We have kept our focus clear. Nursing care for older people is what we do, and we would rather do that thoroughly than stretch ourselves across every kind of provision. Nurses on duty at all hours mean health needs can be looked after as they change, so that nobody has to move again just as they have settled somewhere. Nursing homes can easily feel clinical, so we work against that. People get up when they want, eat what they like, sit where they choose and keep their own furniture, pictures and routines. We ask about the details of a life, the work someone did, the garden they kept, the hour they prefer to be left in peace, and we write those things into how we work so they survive a change of shift. For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail: recognising early what unsettles them and going at their pace. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to visit.
