About South Africa Lodge
We are South Africa Lodge, a nursing home in Waterlooville, Hampshire. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, those managing mental health conditions and those with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays for people who need nursing support for a limited period. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours means we can look after people whose health is complicated or changing, and it also means families do not have to worry about who is on hand at three in the morning. Our team works closely with GPs, district nurses and specialist services locally so that care is coordinated rather than piecemeal. We are equally interested in the parts of life that have nothing to do with health. People here keep their own routines, choose their own company, follow their own faith and interests, and are supported to get outside and to stay in touch with the people they love. We ask about the life somebody has had, not just the conditions they live with, and we expect our staff to know both. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that and we keep examining our own work rather than assuming it will hold. If you are looking at nursing care in the Waterlooville area, you are welcome to visit, to meet the team and to take your time over the decision.
