About The Lakes Care Centre
The Lakes Care Centre is a nursing home in Cirencester, in the Gloucestershire countryside. We care for adults who need nursing support as well as help with daily life, with registered nurses here throughout the day and night. Older people make up most of our community, and a good number are living with dementia. We have found that the days that go well are the unhurried ones. Where somebody wants to sleep later, we let them. Where somebody is anxious in the afternoon, we plan for it rather than being surprised by it. Where somebody wants to talk about a husband who died decades ago, we listen properly. Younger adults with nursing needs live here too, and we try to make sure that the social life of the home has something in it for them rather than expecting everyone to enjoy the same afternoon. We also take respite stays. Sometimes a family carer needs a genuine break, and sometimes a person needs nursing care for a few weeks after illness before going home again. Both are worth doing well. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would encourage anyone considering the home to come and see it, taste the food, and ask whatever questions you want to ask. We will give you straight answers.
