About Ashley House Care Home
We are a nursing home in Cirencester, caring for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing support, and we also offer respite stays. Having nurses on duty throughout the day and night is the heart of what we provide. Health is monitored continually rather than only when something has clearly gone wrong, medicines are managed carefully, and we work with local GPs, district nurses and therapy teams so that people are treated here wherever that is better for them than a journey to hospital. It also means that as somebody's needs increase they can generally stay with us rather than move again. Nursing care works best when it is joined up with everything else. The carer helping someone wash in the morning is also the one who notices that they are quieter than usual, eating less or in more discomfort than yesterday, and those observations reach the nurses quickly. Small things caught early are what keep people well. We want the home to feel like a home. People choose their own routines, keep their possessions around them and see visitors when it suits them rather than when it suits us. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people actually enjoy. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
