About Hugh Myddelton House
Hugh Myddelton House is a nursing home in Enfield, north London. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we take respite admissions as well as permanent residents. Having qualified nurses on site at all times means we can look after people whose health needs are complex or changing, manage a good deal here rather than in hospital, and provide care towards the end of life properly and without rush. It also means families are not left wondering what happens overnight. Clinical care is only part of the job, though. What people notice day to day is whether their relative is comfortable, clean, well fed, listened to and answered when they call, and whether the people looking after them know their name and their story. Those are the standards we hold ourselves to. For residents living with dementia we keep the environment calm, routines familiar and staffing as steady as we can, and we take time to learn each person's history so that we can make better sense of what they are telling us when words become difficult. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome at Hugh Myddelton House at any reasonable hour, and we would much rather hear a concern at the time than have it saved up. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
