About Avalon Nursing Home
We are Avalon Nursing Home in Eastbourne. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we also support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Respite stays are available. Nurses on duty at every hour are what allow us to look after health needs as they change. Medication, wound care, continence, pain and the increasing frailty that often comes with great age can all be managed here, so nobody has to move again simply because their needs have grown. Alongside the nursing we work to keep ordinary life going. People get up when they want, eat what they like, choose where to sit and keep their own belongings and habits. We take the trouble to learn a person's history and preferences, because staff who know somebody well are the ones who notice quickly when they are not themselves. Where we support somebody with a learning disability or an autistic person, we plan individually rather than by category. How a person prefers to be given information, what unsettles them and what a good week looks like to them are the basis of the plan, not an afterthought. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to visit.
