About St Rita's Care Home
St Rita's Care Home is a nursing home in Burgess Hill, East Sussex. We provide nursing care for older people and for adults with a range of conditions, including those living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people with a mental health condition or a physical disability, and residents who have a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite care for planned short stays. Having nurses on the team means we can look after people whose health needs are complex or changeable without them having to move again. Wounds, continence, nutrition, pain, medication and the slow adjustments that long term conditions require are managed here, in the person's own room, by people who know them. Families often tell us that the relief of not having to explain everything again is worth a great deal. Nursing is only part of it, though. The rest is the ordinary business of a good day: getting up when you want to, eating food you enjoy, sitting where the light is decent, having someone to talk to who is not in a hurry. We ask people what matters to them and we build the routine around that rather than around ours. Dementia support runs through the whole home. We keep things familiar and unhurried, we pay attention to what settles a person, and we take the time to understand behaviour rather than simply managing it. Visitors are welcome, and we would rather families felt part of things than kept at arm's length. If you would like to look round, please contact us.
