About St. Ives Country House Care
We are St Ives Country House, a nursing home near Ringwood. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available. Nurses on duty at every hour are what allow us to look after health needs as they change, from medication and wound care to pain and the frailty that often comes with great age. Nobody should have to move again simply because their needs have grown, and that continuity is one of the things families most want to hear about. Alongside the nursing we try to keep hold of ordinary life. People get up when they want, eat what they like and spend the day as they choose. Being out in the country, we make good use of the grounds and the garden. We ask about the details of a person's history and habits, because that is what lets staff notice quickly when somebody is not themselves. For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail: recognising early what unsettles them and going at their pace. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to visit.
