About The Old Lodge Nursing Home
The Old Lodge Nursing Home is in Derby. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can care for people whose health needs go beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it usually means we can continue caring for somebody as their needs increase rather than asking them to move on. We care for older people who need nursing support, and we also support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, and younger adults whose health needs are complex. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a limited period. Clinically, our attention goes where it makes the greatest difference: medication, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain, safe moving and handling, and acting early when somebody's condition alters. Where somebody has a learning disability or is autistic, we take care to understand how they communicate discomfort or distress, because that is often how a change in health first shows itself. The rest of the job is making this a good place to live. People keep their own rooms and their own things, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. Please come and see the home for yourself.
