About Fisher Close
Fisher Close is a nursing home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. We care for older people and younger adults with nursing needs, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and people with eating disorders. We take respite admissions alongside permanent places. Having qualified nurses on site means we can support people whose health needs are complex or changing, and manage a great deal here rather than sending someone into hospital. We support a wide mix of people, which makes individual planning essential rather than optional. What a younger autistic adult needs from us bears very little resemblance to what an older resident living with dementia needs, and we would be doing both a disservice to pretend otherwise. So we plan person by person, and we pay attention to environment, routine, communication and the pace we work at. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather say so plainly. We know the areas that were identified, we are working through them with the staff team, and if you visit we will tell you honestly what has changed and what is still in progress. Families are welcome at Fisher Close, and we would much rather be told about a problem at the time than hear about it weeks later. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
