About Eden Holme Care
We are Eden Holme Care, a nursing home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, so we can support people whose needs are greater than a residential home can meet, including older people and younger adults living with dementia, with mental health conditions, with physical disabilities and with sight or hearing loss. We also provide respite care for people who need nursing support for a short period. Clinical care is only half the job. The other half is making sure that a person who needs a great deal of help still has a life that looks like theirs. We ask about the work people did, the music they love, the teams they follow and the faith they hold, and then we use it, because it is easier to care well for someone you actually know. We pay close attention to the things that make a real difference in nursing care: comfortable positioning, good skin care, careful management of medicines, proper attention to eating and drinking, and pain that is noticed and treated rather than endured. We work closely with GPs, district nurses and specialist teams across Derbyshire. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that and we keep checking our own practice, since a rating describes the past rather than guaranteeing the present. Families are welcome here at any reasonable hour, and we would encourage anyone considering a move to visit more than once before deciding.
