About Hollybank House
Hollybank House is a nursing home in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Because we are registered for nursing care, we can look after people whose health needs are more complex than a residential home can safely meet, with qualified nurses working alongside our care team rather than visiting from outside. Our residents are mainly older adults who need clinical care as well as help with the everyday things. We look after medication, nutrition, skin care, pain and comfort, and we help with washing, dressing and moving about in a way that leaves people doing what they still can for themselves. We work closely with GPs and community health teams so that care is joined up, and we watch for the quieter signs of change. Dementia care is a large part of what we do, and it depends on continuity more than anything else: familiar staff, a routine that holds steady and reassurance given without any hint of impatience. We also care for younger adults whose conditions require nursing support, planning their days around their own interests. Respite stays are available for families needing a break or extra support after a hospital stay. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome, and we would far rather answer an awkward question now than leave a family wondering.
