Eden Mansions Nursing Home is in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Because we have qualified nurses on duty, we can look after people whose health needs are beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and we can usually carry on caring for somebody as those needs grow rather than asking them to move again. We care for older people who need nursing support, including many living with dementia, and we support adults living with mental ill health, including some younger adults, working closely with the community mental health teams involved in their care. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a limited period. Clinically our attention goes where it counts: medication, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain, safe moving and handling, and noticing early when a condition is changing. Where dementia is part of the picture it shapes the whole home, from how we speak to people through to how calm the afternoons are and how we respond when somebody is distressed. Beyond that, this is where people live. Residents keep their own rooms and their own things, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer.
