About Maitland Park Care Home
Maitland Park Care Home is a nursing home in Camden providing nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, with respite stays available alongside permanent places. We will be open with you about where we stand. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as requires improvement. We did not try to argue our way around the findings. We accepted them, put a clear plan in place and have been working through it steadily, with changes to training, record keeping, supervision and the way we check our own practice. We would rather tell you this directly than have you learn it elsewhere, and if you ask we will talk you through exactly what has changed. What we are trying to do here has not altered. Registered nurses are on site at all hours, which means wound care, diabetes, pain relief and care at the end of life can be managed by people who know the resident rather than through repeated hospital admissions. We work closely with GPs, district nurses and specialist palliative colleagues. Residents decide how their days go, and rooms belong to the people in them. For those living with dementia we keep routines and faces as consistent as we can and respond to the feeling behind what someone is telling us. Families are welcome and we actively want to hear from you when something is wrong. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
