About Woodfield Care Home
Woodfield Care Home is a nursing home in Halifax. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can care for people whose health needs go beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it usually means somebody can stay with us as their needs increase rather than facing another move at the hardest possible time. We care for older people who need nursing support, including many living with dementia and many with physical disabilities, and we support people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a limited period or whose family carer needs a proper break. Clinically our attention goes where it counts: medication, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain, safe moving and handling, and acting early when a condition is changing. Where physical disability is part of the picture we think hard about equipment, seating and positioning, because those details decide how comfortable and how independent somebody can be. We work closely with the GP practice and the community health teams who support us. Beyond the clinical side, this is where people live. Residents keep their own rooms and their own belongings, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. We would rather you formed your own view of us, so please arrange to visit and talk to whoever is on duty.
