About Great Park Homecare
Great Park Homecare supports people in their own homes in Windsor and the surrounding area. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. We assess at home, with whoever the person wants there, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. Out of it comes a plan we agree together, which might be a single daily call or support at several points for personal care, medication, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and getting out and about. Given the spread of needs we meet, training is a practical matter rather than a formality. A carer supporting an autistic person, a carer supporting somebody in the later stages of dementia and a carer supporting somebody with poor sight all need to know different things, and ours do before they go out. We hold onto continuity as firmly as the rota allows, because familiarity does more for confidence than any amount of paperwork, and we tell people in advance when a new carer is coming. Families are kept informed and we raise concerns early rather than hoping they pass. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
