We support people living with dementia, and we have learned that the most valuable thing we bring is a familiar person who is not rushing and who already knows how this individual likes things done. We help people with physical disabilities with personal care, moving about safely and getting out of the house, and we support people with a visual or hearing impairment by adapting how we communicate so that nobody is talked over. We also support younger adults, whose care is built around work, study and family rather than a standard timetable. We work hard to keep the same small team around each person, because continuity is what makes everything else possible. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are genuinely pleased about it, and equally aware that it has to be earned again every week.
