We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with a physical disability, those living with an eating disorder, and younger adults who need support at home. That becomes a written plan in plain language, which we follow and which we change when circumstances change. Where someone is living with an eating disorder we work alongside the health professionals already involved so that our support reinforces their plan, and we take care that mealtimes do not become a source of conflict. We keep the team around each person small, because a familiar carer at a predictable hour is worth a great deal and because familiar carers notice when something has changed.
