About Merit Healthcare

Merit Healthcare provides care and support in people's own homes across Swindon and the surrounding parts of Wiltshire. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our packages range from one short daily call to substantial support built around complex needs. The range of people we support is broad. It takes in people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions including eating disorders, people with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Working across that range depends on assessing each person carefully and never assuming that a diagnosis tells us what somebody wants from us. Visits cover personal care, medication, meals, shopping, household tasks and company. Where someone is working towards greater independence, the plan is built for that rather than quietly doing everything for them. We schedule for continuity of carer, train staff for the needs they will actually meet and supervise them properly once they are in post. Families are kept informed while decisions stay with the person we support. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to discuss care at home and we will arrange to visit.
