About Glee Care
Glee Care supports people in their own homes across Salisbury and the wider Wiltshire area. We think care works best when it is quiet, reliable and built around the household it enters, rather than announced with a great deal of noise. We visit older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and keeping on top of the house, and we support people living with dementia, where the same carer arriving at the same time can steady a day that would otherwise unravel. We also work with adults who have physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults, and people managing mental ill health, adapting how we communicate and how we work to suit the person in front of us. Everything begins with a proper assessment at home, with family involved if that is what the person wants. We agree what we will help with, how often we will come and what we will leave alone, and we put it in writing so that nobody has to rely on memory. When circumstances change, and they usually do, we revisit the plan rather than carrying on out of habit. Continuity is something we protect. Being let into somebody's home is a matter of trust, and a rota of strangers erodes it. If you are weighing up care at home in Wiltshire, for yourself or for someone close to you, we are happy to talk through what is realistic and what it would involve.
