About Abletrust Care Southwest
Abletrust Care Southwest supports people in their own homes in and around Salisbury, Wiltshire. We work with older adults, with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic adults, and with younger adults. Those are quite different kinds of work and we try not to blur them. For many of the older people we visit, the whole purpose of us is that they stay in the house they know rather than move. For the younger adults and for people with a learning disability, our job is usually the opposite of taking over. It is making independence workable, which can mean cooking together, sorting out travel, managing appointments, or dealing with organisations not designed for people who think differently. We begin with a conversation rather than a form. What can you still do. What has become difficult. What would you rather we left well alone. From that we agree a plan, write it in language the person can actually read, and change it when circumstances change. Salisbury has a lot of surrounding villages, so we plan rounds honestly rather than promising times we cannot keep. We have not yet been through a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no overall rating to show you. Ring us instead and we will come out, listen, and tell you honestly whether we can help.
