About Folson Care
We are Folson Care, a home care provider in Wigan supporting people in their own homes across the borough. We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who want to live independently with support. Our view is that good home care is mostly made up of small reliable things done consistently. Arriving when we said we would. Staying the full time. Knowing how somebody takes their tea, which stairs they struggle with and which subjects they would rather not discuss. Noticing that a person has eaten less this week. None of it is dramatic, but taken together it is what allows people to stay at home safely and keeps families from worrying constantly. Support might be a single daily visit or several calls covering personal care, medication, meals, laundry and shopping. Wherever a person can still manage something, we support them to keep doing it rather than quietly taking over. We train our carers for the specific work they are sent to do, supervise them properly, and keep the office reachable so families are not left chasing an answer. We work with district nurses, GPs and social workers when they are involved. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us to discuss what would help.
