About Harcourt Health Hub
Harcourt Health Hub provides care at home to older people in Northampton and the surrounding area, including people living with dementia. Our work is deliberately focused. We support older people who want to carry on living in their own houses and need help to do it, and we would rather do that one thing properly than spread ourselves thinly. Visits cover personal care given without rushing, support and prompting with medication, preparing meals, help with laundry, shopping and keeping the house in order, and getting out to appointments or simply out for a change of scene. For some people the most useful part of a visit is the company and the fact that somebody has looked in. Two things matter above all in this work. The first is sending the same carers to the same people, because being met by a familiar face is worth a great deal and is close to essential for somebody living with dementia. The second is allowing enough time to do the job properly, since care delivered against a stopwatch is not really care, and hurrying an older person is neither dignified nor safe. Please get in touch if you are arranging support at home locally.
