About Atkins Care Services
Atkins Care supports adults in their own homes in Walton on Thames and the surrounding part of Surrey. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, and people with sight or hearing loss. Everything begins with what the person actually wants their day to look like. From there the support might include help with washing and dressing, medicines, meals, the household and shopping, or it might be about getting out to work, college, appointments and the places somebody likes to go. For younger adults it is frequently about building the practical skills independent living demands, and there we count it a success when we are needed less. We put a great deal of effort into continuity. Being helped with personal care by somebody you have never met is a genuinely difficult thing, so we keep the team around each person small and let you know in advance when it has to change. We also write plans in the person's words rather than as a list of tasks convenient to our rota. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with that and we are wary of resting on it, so we keep asking the people we support, and their families, whether we are still getting the ordinary things right.
