About Dean Health Care
We provide care at home in Stockport. Those we visit include older adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We put most of our effort into two things: sending carers worth sending, and then keeping them. Turnover is the quiet enemy of good home care. Every time a carer leaves, somebody has to explain their routine again to a stranger, and the person receiving care pays for a problem they had no part in creating. So we try to be an employer people stay with, because that is what produces the continuity families actually want. Beyond that the work is practical. Washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping, laundry, and keeping a household from getting on top of somebody. Where a person can still do something themselves we support them to keep doing it, even when it would be faster to take over. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. Families are welcome to ask how we recruit, train and check the people we send, to meet them beforehand, and to judge us on what they actually experience.
